Backuptrans Android SMS to iPhone Transfer is a program that allows you to backup your SMS messages from your Android device to your PC and optionally send them to your iPhone. This might come in handy if you have recently switched from an Android phone to an iPhone and don't want to lose your messages.
You can connect your Android to your PC via the USB cable that comes with your device, or use Wifi syncing, which allows for wireless syncing. To do this, you need to download the Backuptrans SMS Sync app from the Google Play Store and then input your device's IP address on your computer. When you do that, all the SMS messages on your phone will appear on your screen and you will be able to back them all up or select the ones that you want to transfer. You can also print the messages from within the application. The SMSs can be saved to a local database, or to a TXT file.
Each SMS conversation has a date, a flag that tells you who the text was sent to or who sent it to you, the contact name and number. When you click on a conversation, you will be able to browse the messages contained therein, but if you click on browsing upwards, you will see messages from other conversations. This could be fixed so that only the messages in the selected conversation are shown.
In my testing, I was unable to get the app to detect my Android phone while connected via a USB cable. The app also failed to detect my iPhone, so I couldn't test how the transfer process to the iPhone works. Transferring Android SMSs via Wireless sync worked well and the process was fast.
